Built from figures of Western nostalgia, these works are often constructed in frontier dioramas. The figures sit slightly from the surface, allowing light to catch the edges and cast real shadows across the face of the work. The interaction of object, light, texture, and shadow gives the work a shifting quality throughout the day and adds a subtle sculptural dimension.
